To Spin-finity and Beyond...

Here are the purchases that came home with  me from Saturday at the Mass. Sheep & Wool.  There were a few more special things I would have  acquired had I stayed another day, but really, I am content that I made good use of my time test driving the many different spinning wheels.  It's hard not to enjoy this fair at the Cummington Fairgrounds.

"Am I good or what?!"

As I was knitting a heel on the CSM I remembered  this was the  leftover yarn from my Spey Valley Socks . I altered my original idea, finished the sock, and got out the scale only hoping I didn't use more than half the skein.

The sock weighed 5/8 ou. , ... hmmmm, would I make it?

Knitting? Well, some Cranking maybe...

I went to the "Crank In" in Chaplin, CT on Saturday and was able to get a better handle on my Circular Sock Machine.  What a great bunch of people and SOOOO knowledgable in many fiber arts!

Fun Friday

I've been working/playing with the fleece, hand carding, drum carding, and not carding. I decided it was much more fun working with the colorful blue/green batt the fleece came with. So what's a girl to do but color it up! That's an old drum carder from a weaver's barn, she was nice enough to lend it to me.

I can understand how you can really get into dying...fiber of course. The colors are addicting! This is a skein gifted last season, Thanks Helen!

Looks like a house sparrow is trying to get away with something here. We may remove the tan speckled eggs as we really don't need more nasty house sparrows!
